As you can see above the first memorial walk for the late Joe Burke, was held last Saturday,21st of May in
Marlfield with the unveiling of a bench at the roundabout looking out to Marlfield House and beyond to the Knockmealdowns and the ever-changing sky scape .
The siting is magical and affords the walker or casual visitor the opportunity to either walk the village, lake, church and river or to walk onwards to the Rock the area of Joe's voluntary labours over many years and walk one of the walks there.
A massive crowd turned up for the event and after the unveiling rambled ,with Bernie Lennon to the fore to the village and lakeside while hearing of the lore and history of the area, delivered with aplomb as only Bernie can.The slides below were taken in the past few days.
