O-BODY yet at the Rock, but that 's a MIRACLE.
365 days of inaction on the part of Coillte and the Tipperary County Council.
365 of failure to comply with Health and Safety issues arising from the deluge that knocked the wall.
Every day since 13th November 2014 commuters are risking their lives driving this stretch of road.
COILLTE & TIPPERARY COUNTY COUNCIL MAKE SAFE NOW!
Come Friday the 13th of November we will remember the fifty metre wall collapse at the ROCK,Marlfield due to a ferocious deluge.Marlfield Village was flooded the same time.
NOTHING has been done to either repair that damage or safeguard motorists and others since that event.
SHAME on the County Council and Coillte for their blatant disregard of their duty and for daily putting the lives of commuters at risk.
What are they waiting for?
If you are a regular commuter on the Clonmel-Knocklofty road through Marlfield raise your voice :Call - Tweet - Email - speak to your local representatives - ACT NOW to safeguard all users of the road and walkers.
Demand ACTION NOW otherwise the prospect is real that SOMEONE will face serious injury or even mortal injury anytime soon.
Was walking from Carrick back to Kilsheelin some days ago, having walked earlier in the day from Clonmel - to Kilsheelin - used the bus on two occasions, work it out ! Stopped off for a bite and a half at Nagles on the way back, tasty, great price and plenty of good food.
The cots/boats are being taken in for the winter and cleaning, repair and painting. The cot in slide two shows the quantity of water that fell in the two days previous.
The open gate is just that, the entire track is walkable as all the really wild grasses and weeds have been cut and all is ready for further laying of track or so it seems.
Bulmer's wall,at Two Mile Bridge has been breeched to enable either access for storage of track material or to lay the trackway there,or both - time will tell.
Things are taking shape nicely in time to enable those of us still around for the Xmas to work up an appetite for the turkey by walking the walk and thanking the good lord for the ability to do so.Get up and go!
A site to remember and check often:http://cruiskeen.ie/the Cruiskeen,a River Suir racing boat/the Rock1.html
and some photos to peruse before walking the walk?
In a little over a week the first anniversary of the wall collapse, due to a deluge, will occur. The date was the night of the 13th of November. The morning of the 14th revealed a loss of some forty five metres of wall and some of the roadside.Aside from placing some traffic cones along the gap Nothing has happened to make good the damage of that night. This fact is a SCANDAL.The inaction of the two bodies responsible,Coillte on the one hand and the County Council on the other is SCANDALOUS and irresponsible. The fact that,to date not one person has been injured or killed is a minor miracle. Will that continue? Are they,Coillte and the Council
waiting for such an event to happen before they take action?I say to them both to repair the wall and the roadside Now before a tragedy occurs.
